Coach Lee Pantas receives special recognition from his past students , coaches and volunteers at the Blue Ridge Classic Track meet 2016. Coach Pantas started the BRC 14 years ago and it has grown into one of the largest high school meets in the state. Also recognized were students Donald Bonner and Melissa Cavagnini who were the recipients of the Gothberg awards. These are $500 grants for college awarded to participating male and female athletes who submit winning essays about how track has influenced their lives. Bonner plans on attending Paine College in Augusta GA. and Cavagnini plans to attend UNC Chapel HIll in the fall.
